My journey to coaching:
Jen was first introduced to coaching by her aunt and uncle. Jen listened to them talk about the coaching process. She heard how their clients benefited from coaching. She thought about how rewarding it could be.
Jen was coached by her aunt, who's approach is well mixed with thought provoking questions, positive thoughts and tons of fun. Jen dreampt of helping others in a similar way.
Having a baby of her own was one of Jen's biggest dreams. When she and her husband started trying to conceive she truly thought she would be pregnant within a month or two. After 16 months of trying, Jen realized she needed help in making her dream come true. She sought help from many sources to find an experienced reproductive endocrinologist. After countless tests and appointments and three IUI's, Jen was amazed to find out she was finally pregnant.
During those twenty months of trying to conceive, infertility consumed Jen. She was proactive in her journey and took the opportunity to learn as much as she could about infertility.
Jen couldn't believe how fast her nine months of pregnancy went by. There was so much to do and so little time! She had an amazing amount of fun with every tiny detail. Jen loved every part of the planning! She did endless research on baby names, nursery styles and themes, product reviews, things to have on hand for when baby comes home, healthy meals, baby shower themes and games, registering, what should be in a hospital bag, bonding with baby before birth and much, much more! Trying to create a family, preparing for a new member of your family and becoming a parent are so all-consuming and amazing. However, Jen feels it's crucial to remember who you are through the process and not lose your sense of self.
Jen's son, Finn, was born in December 2008. About ten days after having Finn, she realized that all the research in the world hadn't prepared her for new parenthood. This precious little creature was now her number one priority. Showering was no longer a necessity, but an indulgence. Sleep was no longer part of her life. For first time parents, it's hard to prepare for the life-altering transition. Jen needed to feel a new confidence in being a mother with the responsibility for a new life. She needed the understanding of those who had been through this before.
Jen decided to become a Coach so she can use her own life experience to support other women's desire's, dreams and goals.
